Finding Yourself in the Stars

Have you ever stood beneath a clear night sky, gazing up at the stars twinkling above, and felt a beautiful connection to something greater than yourself? That profound sense of wonder and belonging isn’t just poetic imagination – it’s a reflection of our timeless connection to the cosmos..

As I stand in my backyard, watching the stars emerge one by one, I’m reminded of my own journey with astrology and star magic. I suppose astrology has almost always been a background theme for as long as I can remember…the world is saturated with sun signs. It was only when traditional guidance started feeling insufficient and I needed something more detailed and personal that I really started getting into it more than just paying attention to the major themes that come up from time to time. The intricate web of planetary relationships has a language that speaks to the complexity of our human experience, a map that acknowledges both our challenges and our infinite potential.

Understanding Astrology as a Mirror

Astrology is far more than newspaper horoscopes or vague predictions. It’s a sophisticated system of self-discovery that uses the positions of celestial bodies as a mirror for our inner landscape. Think of it as a cosmic blueprint, unique to the moment you took your first breath, reflecting the energetic patterns that shape your journey through life.

This ancient wisdom tradition offers us a language of archetypes and cycles that can illuminate our natural strengths, reveal our growth edges, and help us understand the timing of opportunities and challenges. It’s like having a cosmic weather forecast for your personal development.

Practical Applications in Daily Life

In my own practice, I’ve found many ways to work with astrological wisdom. During Mercury retrograde periods, being reminded that sometimes things happen that are beyond my control – helps me feel a lot less targeted, frustrated, and spun out. These three-week cycles have become sacred spaces for me to be a little easier on myself, and to not pressure myself to get things done when the energy is not right. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…” That has been such an important lesson for me to really grasp – that there is a natural rhythm in life, and sometimes no matter how much effort I put forth, when the time is just not right for it, being in the energy of resistance and force against the flow is not productive.

Of course, I couldn’t resist defying astrological convention by launching this blog during Mercury retrograde—a time most people would shy away from bold moves. Call it contrary magic, but I’ve learned to embrace the unexpected gifts of these cycles, and I just honor where my energy feels like going. It was time to renew my .com domain, and I found a better hosting option that will allow me the freedom to build what I always wanted to but couldn’t with my previous host’s limitations. I’ve been working with a lot of new technology – learning WordPress.org templates which is new to me. I just started using Notion, and it is already helping me so much with getting organized and stepping down abstract ideas into actionable tasks to do within a comfortable timeline, which I have never been able to do before with much success. I have notebooks everywhere, and I can never seem to keep them devoted to one subject!

Understanding astrological cycles, like Mercury retrograde, has not only given me practical tools for navigating life’s challenges but has also deepened my exploration of other systems like Human Design, which integrates astrology in profound ways.

As a Projector in Human Design, I’ve learned how important it is to work with my personal natural energy cycles, gifts and needs. Sometimes my personal vital energy cooperates with the grand flow of things, and sometimes it just doesn’t. Learning to understand these different rhythms has transformed how I approach my creative work, my relationships, and basically everything I do!

Heart-Wishing: Where Astrology Meets Manifestation

My natal chart with transits and some of my favorite asteroids!

One of the most powerful ways I use astrology is through what I call “heart-wishing” – a practice that combines astrological timing with unique emotional energy signatures for manifestation, sprinkled with a little bit of quantum magic. Your natal chart can help reveal your authentic desires and potentials, helping you distinguish between the illusions of things such as societal expectations and ego-based wants vs. your soul’s true calling.

For example, right now I have Jupiter in Gemini transiting my 12th house, and so this is a good time for me to be doing more projects that are more aligned with my mystical Pisces Midheaven and Gemini Ascendant! (read: blogging about things like astrology, heart-wishing and human design finally feel like something I actually want to do, and I actually feel supported in doing it! lol) Understanding these cosmic currents helps me align my actions with the natural flow of universal energy.

Your Invitation to Cosmic Connection

You don’t need to become an astrologer to benefit from this ancient wisdom. Why not start your own cosmic adventure today? Observe how the moon’s phase could be influencing your energy today, or download your natal chart on astro.com and explore what draws your attention. If you’d like personalized guidance, I’d love to create a chart for you, highlighting your unique gifts and how to align them with real magical change.

Astrology has helped me live more intentionally and authentically, giving me a framework for understanding both my personal rhythms and the collective cycles. It’s reminded me that we’re all part of something larger – a cosmic dance that’s been unfolding since the beginning of time.

As you begin your own exploration of the stars, remember that you’re not just observing distant celestial bodies – you’re reconnecting with an ancient part of yourself that has always known how to read the cosmic story written in the sky.

With heart-wishes and starry blessings from my constellation to yours,

Kerri
